Prolonged sitting places a huge amount of pressure on our body. For example, our spinal discs sustain roughly the pressure of 3x our body weight when we sit. I.e. An 80 kg person will exert a pressure of roughly 240kg on their spinal disc when they sit. The excessive pressure exerted on our body when we sit leads to conditions such as pinched nerve, disc herniation, headache and neck pain. 

One way to overcome the effects of sitting is to maintain a neutral posture to avoid excessive pressure overloading on our joints and muscles. Here are some tips to healthy sitting courtesy from the Ontario Chiropractic Association.
