Scoliosis is diagnosed with x-ray. Scoliosis is confirmed when a sideway curvature of more than 10 degree is present. The likelihood of curvature progression is higher with younger age of onset.
Signs and symptoms typically found in scoliosis are:
- Back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain and hip pain.
- Structural misalignment eg.uneven hips or shoulders, rib cage shifted to one side.
- Stiffness or limited mobility.
Chiropractic treatments can help with scoliosis to help restore normal mobility, muscle tension and muscular imbalance. On top of that, chiropractors are also trained to monitor for the progression of scoliosis, with postural advice, bracing or surgical advice should the need comes arise.
Scoliosis, if dealt with correctly, rarely affects activities of daily livings. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to come in for an examination at Spearwood Chiropractic. Call us on 0481342837 to make an appointment.
